More babies from 2012. Baby Tessa was born this winter and I’m sure she’s crawling by now. She belongs to such a sweet family and I feel blessed to capture memories of her and her big sister’s first year of life. Don’t forget to view the first post from my 2012 baby wave.

It’s a new school year for the kiddos so it means a new blog post for JSP. I have been busier than ever this summer between taking care of the home, kids and trying to run this business. In past years I would have pushed myself to stay up past midnight blogging each and every…
Sorry to have neglected this poor blog. I believe I can attribute my business Facebook Page to keeping me away from this blog. I am able to share quick sneak peeks on my page without taking too much time to put together a blog post. Yes, believe it or not, blogging takes LOTS of time…
If I had to pick a favorite photo from 2011, it would be this one. It may look simple to you, but to me and to my client this was SO documentary. Shala is a HUGE dog lover. She has two St. Bernards which truly were her only babies for many years. They are the…
My favorite sessions have become family photo sessions for many reasons. I love the interaction, the fun, the creativity and the authenticity that take place when all the stars align! But to get the stars to align some things have to take place. You’ve gotta show up with the right attitude and preparations, just like…
After doing some reflection (and having eight years of family photography behind me) I’m starting to find a trend for my most successful sessions. I call them “successful” because they play out my artistic vision….. to photograph families with true personality that will not only be FUN to look at but also reflect individuality. I…
This new client contacted me from out of state (NV) to document her visit with the grandparents who happened to live in good ol’ Westfield, Indiana. What I loved most about this session is the connection between the children and their loved ones…. especially the grandparents. I was in awe of how much Grandpa wanted…
I went back for Finn’s big one year session. Loved getting to know him and his lovely family. Watching him grow through my lens three times this year (here and here) was such fun. He is almost walking but has no problem getting where he wants to go. Such a vicious crawler!
It’s that time of year again when I do most of my sessions indoors. As much as I love to shoot outside, my photography roots came from learning to shoot indoors in available (natural) light. Although this next session took place in the fall, it didn’t keep up from capturing things right at home.
Little “E” is growing up. I just LOVE coming back to see babies…. to see what was once a sleepy bundle of love to a now full of life personality!
